Our January Member of the Month has been with us for over two years, with great consistency in the gym and somehow escaped getting very many pictures taken of her …

Coaches – How can this be ?!?!?!

She is an amazing member of the community at CFB and the larger area community who has always stepped in to help her fellow CrossFitters out! Please join me in congratulating Lynly – our CrossFit Bothell Member of the Month for January 2017!

And now, from Lynly herself:

Q1: What is CrossFit to you?
A1:  A great way to stay in shape and feel good mentally.  One of the main reason that I love CrossFit is it really helps me focus my day.  After I do a WOD I feel a sense of accomplishment.  I am more positive, upbeat,  calm and balanced.  And regardless of what Alec says, I do actually smile from time to time in the gym.
Q2: What do you love about CrossFit?
A2:  The community.  As everyone says, there is something about working hard together.  I  came to CrossFit because I had a couple of running/workout partners, but they dropped out over time. I had to find a new set of workout partners.  I get much more motivation and enjoyment from working out with others. Working out alone just isn’t as much fun!
Q3: What do you love about CrossFit Bothell?
A3:  What’s not to love?  But really, the people and how the box feels like “your place” to work out.  It is great when you walk in and can say “hi” to people you know.  Like Cheers but without the beer – usually.
Q4: What’s your biggest accomplishment at CrossFit thus far?
A4: Staying consistent.  My goal is to crossfit 3 – 4 times a week. I have been pretty good about that which I credit to the variety of workouts and the coaches. CrossFit is like a box of chocolates – you never know what you are going to get with each WOD.

Q5: What is the goal you are working on at CrossFit?

A5:  Linking kipping pull-ups and TTB.
Q6: What’s your favorite thing to do at CrossFit?
A6: Deadlift or power clean.  And then eat a hamburger with cheese afterwards (see cheat meals below)
Q7: What’s your favorite thing to do outside the gym?
A7:  Hang out with my beautiful family -yes,  including my husband.
Q8: If you could be an animal, what would you be and why?
A8:  A panther – sleek and mysterious
Q9: What’s the greatest band ever? (Editor Note: the only right answer to this question is METALLICA)
A9:  Rick Ross (technically not a band but…).
Q10: What’s your favorite cheat meal?
A10:  Pizza, lasagna, enchiladas, cheese burgers, chocolate cake, carrot cake, doughnuts, mixed drinks,  should I keep going…?
Q11: What is your CrossFit story and what has CrossFit done for you since you have been coming?
A11: CrossFit has actually made me much more aware of the impact of nutrition on overall health and fitness.  I have read a lot about  when, how and if to eat carbohydrates.   And I have even put some of it in practice –  when not eating cheat meals!   But really, CF has made me stronger.  Before I joined Crossfit I couldn’t get my toes to the bar, or do one stinking strict pull-up.  Now I can. For me, that is huge.
