Laura Shearer is co-owner and is the Head Coach at CrossFit Bothell.  Laura has been coaching with CrossFit Bothell since 2013, is a CrossFit Level 2 Trainer, and was USAW certified in 2014.

Outside the gym she is an amazing middle school science teacher and brings that passion for teaching into the gym!

I love CrossFit because no matter what skill level you are it is always a challenge. No matter where you go you can always find a welcoming community down to grind through a tough workout with you.

I love being able to help people lead healthier lifestyles and realize their physical potential. Showing people that they can do things they never thought possible is why I do this everyday.

I came from a non athletic background. My sports consisted of snowboarding and rock climbing nothing too serious. Before CrossFit it was a fight to just get me to think about exercising. That all changed when I started doing CrossFit on December 17th, 2010. I didn’t begin coaching till October of 2013. I am a CF-L1 and CF-L2 trainer, I have also completed the CrossFit scaling course. I am also studying for my CF-L3 certification.

My name is Marcus Stanley and I recently moved to the Seattle area from Phoenix, Arizona with my wife, Stephanie and three little kids, Rocco, Maya and Connor. I discovered CrossFit 7 years ago as a young Police Officer training for the SWAT team and I have been hooked ever since. CrossFit remained my training program through my 6-year SWAT career due to the impact it had on my physical performance and inherent ability to train your mind to never give up. I have had the opportunity to see the amazing benefits of CrossFit for general health and fitness as well as for the rigorous and stressful demands of first responders. CrossFit has had an incredible effect on my life and I’m excited to share my passion for fitness, health and CrossFit with the CFB community. I am certified as a CrossFit Level 1 trainer and CrossFit Mobility trainer. I bring 6 years of professional training and instructor experience from my time as a Police and SWAT lead instructor and have been coaching CrossFit since 2015.

CrossFit not only satisfies my competitive nature but engages me to focus on all aspects of my health. Working out with the awesome community that CrossFit creates is not only inspiring but helps you push to new limits you thought were not possible. Even when the days are challenging I still love what I am doing.

I enjoy being apart of helping others realize what they are capable of. I love sharing my knowledge to help athletes reach their personal goals. Sharing my passion to make others happy, healthier and stronger is pretty awesome!

Since i was a child, i have been very active and have participated in several different group sports. I played soccer in my youth where i realized I enjoyed the high intensity and fast pace environment. Moved on to compete in track and field throughout school, 400 M was my race! I found a competitive jump rope team, where i traveled across the country mastering tricks, double unders and speed rope. My ultimate love is horse back riding, competing and participating in clubs as a child and now more recreational as an adult. After I took some time off out of the saddle and couldn’t stand the treadmill any longer, I found interest in CrossFit. I took my first class in August of 2010 and fell in love.  I went on to get my CrossFit Level 1 and studied in exercise science/ personal training. I have been a coach at CrossFit Bothell since 2014.

I love that CrossFit is beautifully structured to create an environment that can help anyone to reach their fitness goals and beyond. From the movements and programming framework to the community-building aspects and even the music, it’s an all-around positive experience that naturally makes you want to push yourself to achieve more day after day.

I love helping people move better; I love helping people identify their goals and then reach those goals; I love creating challenging, effective, balanced workouts that people truly enjoy; and most of all I love showing people that they can accomplish things that could never have even envisioned, which eventually happens to everyone who sticks with it for more than a few months.

After college I had a steady routine of running and lifting and I was in decent shape, but my fitness gains were stagnant and I found myself oft-injured from repetitive stress. I discovered CrossFit in 2011 and not only did I improve my fitness dramatically, but I found that my nagging injuries began to dissipate as the well-rounded programming exposed and eliminated many of my musculature weaknesses and imbalances. By 2014 I had so much personal satisfaction from CrossFit that I decided I wanted to gain a deeper understanding of functional movement and programming philosophies and share that knowledge to benefit others, so I began my pursuit of coaching accreditations. I currently hold certifications as a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and a CrossFit Football/Power Athlete Trainer.

Charlie began CrossFit in 2011 and has been a certified CrossFit Instructor since 2013. He enjoys coaching and participating in competitive CrossFit competitions. He has been involved in athletic sports since childhood including football, soccer, swimming, scuba diving, wrestling, and hiking. Challenging people to reach their potential is one of his passions. In 2014 Charlie began creating health and fitness mobile apps to help people with CrossFit, running, and weightlifting routines. To date he has helped millions of people worldwide realize their health and fitness goals through their mobile devices and he continues to create new apps to help people live healthier lives.
